Last week for the first time I received my digital switching box, and install it on Sunday just watching football. When I flip I freaked out, I found I couldn't access high-definition television network, until I can get the comcast cable clip, on the back of my TV set. But Comcast digital adapter sits between the two, I now can only get the clear channel.
Comcast Monday morning call me, asked me why I no longer get hd channels has always been my part of the package. They told me that to get these channels, I need to buy their special hd box, hd service charge and pay $10 a month. At this point, I became a suspect.
"So, you tell me, now I need you to pay the extra $10 a month, just to get the same channel, I use?" I asked.
"Yes, I am very sorry to inconvenience you," to react.
Now, I know there is a solution. I'm going to install digital antenna and pull out the comcast cable together, so I can watch hd football again. But it's my horrible, Comcast has sent my products, the company has been billed as an "upgrade", in fact already relegated my service quality. And, more importantly, comcast told me, I will need to pay extra 10 yuan a month access channels, free access to more than the air.
All of the worst part is, I will have no choice, can only continue to pay comcast TV service, never just because I use the company's honor bound to plan, make it cheaper for me to have a TV and the Internet is not only the Internet only. It's not like I can switch providers in our district has a regional monopoly since comcast.
Such business practices, this also no wonder, comcast any other ISP has the lowest customer satisfaction rankings in the United States. Company comcast user feel unfortunately, hatred has not yet translated into the loss of profits, because it has and time warner cable effectively split into small country fiefs, their only choice Internet services.
The good news is that apple, Google and Intel company has make noise to disturb the market pay television much in iOS and Android in the same way, destroy Windows computing platform the grip on the market. Cable industry's pay-tv business will eventually collapse, burning more and more people around their channels, through the Internet to watch their favorite programs. From my perspective, this day will not come soon enough.
